Title: Teaching intercultural communicative competence

Summary: This work is a descriptive and explanatory project whose main purpose is to demonstrate that in order to communicate in a globalized world with people from different cultures we do not only need to master English grammar and vocabulary, but also a series of different abilities necessary for intercultural communication. This theoretical endeavor finds its application in a pedagogical proposal whose main aim is to develop intercultural communicative cometence. This pedagogical proposal has been designed for senior year students of Chilean subsidized schools, with an intermediate and/or advanced level of English.
