Title: Shortening the breach: An elective workshop for junior students 

Summary: This work analyzes the context in which most Chilean students are immersed. After exploring the role of the school in helping students to cope with family problems as well as their immediate reality, this work proposes an elective workshop that aims to help students understand better their place within society. In this course, students compare and contrast their personal experiences with their classmates’ and with those of American teenagers. Each lesson aims at broadening students’ perspectives and at giving them the chance to expose their concerns while they learn from the experience of others.
