Summary: This descriptive investigation consists of two main parts; the theoretical framework and its instructional application through a pedagogical proposal. The aim of this pedagogical proposal is to improve and develop reading comprehension skills through strategies such as skimming and scanning by making students deal with texts related to the specialized area they will work in.
